Writer Andriy Kurkov informs about this quoting the person that has recently returned form Donetsk.
‘Today I have met the person that has just returned from Donetsk. He told about life there. Two hotels [in Donetsk] are working and filled with journalists – these are ‘Ramada’ (110 euros for number) and ‘Park-Inn’, there is torture and prison in ‘Liverpool’ hotel’.
According to him, there has been meeting of DNR leader Zakharchenko and students in Donetsk.
The hall was full, al student listened attentively about the future of DNR and then one student asked about scholarships. ‘What do you study?’ – asked Zakharchenko. ‘Chemistry’, – the student responded. ‘Learn to make bombs and then you will earn to make a living!’, – advised the leader of self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic.
Kurkov describes attitudes of Donetsk residents to Yanukovych and Akhmetov [the richest person in Ukraine known for his open support of terrorists]. According to Kurkov, in Donetsk people hate and despise former president Yanukovych, they treat Akhmetov with ‘silent respect’ because his foundation continues to feed elderly citizens of the city.
