Yatseniuk: Ukraine has filed suits demanding compensation of trillion losses from Russia

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk said this when he opened a government meeting.

According to Yatseniuk, Ukraine has filed three suits to European Court of Human Rights demanding compensation of trillion losses that have been caused by Russia.

He has also reminded that Ukraine has started the procedure to bring Russia to liability in UN International Court for violations of International Convention for the Suppression of Financing of Terrorism.

‘Russian Federation finances terrorism in Ukraine, RF supports terrorism in Ukraine and RF violates the convention against terrorism’, – Yatseniuk said.

On November 14, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin informed about preparation of an appeal to UN International Court and European Court of Human Rights for the return of property seized by Russia in Crimea.

As of early June, according to Justice Minister Pavlo Petyrenko, Ukraine as a state and its citizens had lost 1 trillion 80 billion USD from the annexation of Crimea. The sum of losses continued to increase since then.

According to the government, as of September 2014, restoration works in the East would const 11,8 billion UAH. About 11 000 object have been damaged due to terrorist activity.

Previously we have reported that fighters in Donbas experience problems with repair of military equipment, they do not manage to bring spare part from Russia.
