Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the first reading supported the governmental bill on anti-corruption principles of state policy in Ukraine (Anti-Corruption Strategy) for the years 2014-2017 (№ 4284).
According to UNIAN correspondent 256 Members of Parliament voted for it (of 273 present).
MPs also supported a decision to shorten preparations for the second reading. The second reading will be discussed on October 14. The bill approves the principles of state anti-corruption policy (Anti-Corruption Strategy) for years 2014-2017.
According to the bill, within 3 months from the date it enters into force, the Ministry Cabinet has to work out a mechanism (a program) of implementation of the principles of the Anti-Corruption Strategy for years 2014-2017. Ministry Cabinet also has to bring its normative legal acts in compliance with the document.
It is presupposed that the successful realization of anti-corruption strategy will give possibility to reduce the level of corruption, increase public confidence in government, increase foreign investment and create base for further anti-corruption reform.
