Assistant US Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Ambassador of the USA in Ukraine Jeffrey Payette transferred Ukrainian border guards technique for border management for the amount of $ 3 million.

During the meeting Victoria Nuland, Jeffrey Payette and commandment of the State Border Service discussed cooperation in the sphere of security and necessity of involvement of the USA. They also spoke about the situation in the East and South of the country, tasks of sub-units of State Border Service in terms of implementation of the Peace plan of President Poroshenko.
During the meeting they examined facilities and equipment that the United States government had sent to the border department.
In particular, Ukrainian border service received 45 vehicles [trucks, tractors, tankers, minivans including armoured, cranes, excavators]. In addition, border guards received binoculars, portable thermal imagers, inflatable modules, diesel generators and sleeping bags. The total price of the equipment if $ 3 million.
Currently there continues process of buying autonomous life support units, armoured patrol vehicles, thermal imagers and engineering equipment for $ 12 million.
In addition, there is a plan to buy special uniforms and vehicles of border control for $ 1.4 million in terms of cooperation of US State Department in the program ‘Export control and border security’.
According to another joint project, there is a plan to buy 36 armoured SUVs, 70 portable thermal imagers and 2.3 thousand body armors and equipment. The total sum is almost $ 10 million.
