US Ambassador pointed out disadvantages of OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine

Spokesperson for Information and Analysis Center of National Security and Defense Council colonel Andriy Lysenko reported this during daily press briefing in Kyiv.

Ambassador of the United States with the OSCE mission Daniel Baer drew attention to the disadvantages and lack of monitoring of Ukrainian-Russian border that is being carried out by OCSE mission. He believes that OSCE has to expand its presence in the region and calls on Russia to start negotiations with Ukraine on the issue of organization of monitoring and control of the border according to Minsk agreements and immediate establishment of buffer zone free of heavy weapons.

Germany Chanellor Angela Merkel spoke on the issue of usage of drones. She said that they could be an element of intensified control in the region of conflict. According to the Chancellor, Berlin is having negotiation with OSCE about supply of drones.

Yesterday at about 08.10 pm border guards of Luhansk oblast together with officers of Ministry of Internal Affairs detained two Ukrainian citizens at the checkpoint near the settlement of Stanycho-Luhanske. The detained had maps with layout of checkpoints of Ukrainian Armed Forces in Luhansk oblast and scheme of their functioning. The detained citizens have been transferred to counterintelligence for further investigation.

Volunteer regiment Azov becomes part of the National Guard

In order to improve interaction between the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies with volunteer battalion of territorial defense, there has been adopted a decision to include ‘Azov’ regiment into the structure of the National Guard. This would let to organize and improve training and use of volunteer battalions. Currently there new headquarters is being established. The regiment is being resupplied with specialists that would train volunteers and organize management in combats. There continues education of certain specialties, the regiment receives new models of vehicles and equipment.
