According to an UNIAN correspondent, Koval said this at a briefing today.
‘We are in continuous fighting, and fightings are protracted, fierce, we are restoring the position and thereby close the frontier from external interference,’ – said Koval.
When asked whether it is possible to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine without the introduction of martial law, Koval said that supreme commander and president of Ukraine Poroshenko had unveiled his peace plan.
‘The armed forces of Ukraine is a part of this plan, we execute the tasks set by the President at the National Security Council,’ – said Koval.
‘We are confident that our enemies would have the courage and common sense, so that this plan would be implemented,’ – said Koval.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Poroshenko’s plan to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine presupposes increased control on the Ukrainian-Russian border, creation of 10 km. buffer zone on the border and the removal of illegal armed groups, release of all illegally seized office buildings, restoration of local authorities and national television and radio stations.
The plan also provides for amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on the decentralization of power, pre-term local and parliamentary elections.
