On July 1st ‘Naftogaz Ukraine’ stopped buying gas from the Russian company ‘Gazprom’.
On July 1st Ukraine has suspended imports of Russian gas, as well as significantly reduced its purchase in the EU after a fruitless trilateral gas talks with Russia brokered by the European Commission.
This is informed by Unian with reference to the message of the state company ‘Ukrtransgaz’.
For this morning, as noted in the company, an application to import 13.6 million cubic meters of the natural gas from Slovakia was received in the central control department of ‘Ukrtransgaz’. It’s two times lower than average daily volumes of June.
The spokesperson of ‘Ukrtransgaz’ Maxim Bielawski said: ‘The supply of natural gas for the needs of Ukrainian consumers is not carried out in other areas’.
On July 1st, according to the Hungarian operator of GTS Company FGSZ, an application from Ukraine for pumping natural gas is missing.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on July 1st ‘Naftogaz Ukraine’ stops the purchase of gas from the Russian company ‘Gazprom’, because on June 30th the validity of the agreement between the two parties expired, and the conditions for further deliveries of Russian gas to Ukraine have not been agreed during the tripartite talks in Vienna.
On June 30th the gas negotiations at the level of energy ministers of Ukraine and Russia with the participation of Vice-President of the European Commission on Energy Union Maros Shefchovicha were held in Vienna. Parties were required to secure the agreement on gas supplies to Ukraine from Russia, including gas price and transit issues and injection volumes. However, the conditions proposed by Russia were rejected by Ukraine.
