Ukraine under attack – Russian troops take control of Novoazovsk, Mariupol prepares for defense
The State Border Service has published video picturing burned equipment nearby checkpoint Uspenka.
The border unit detected column of terrorists moving deep into Ukrainian territory. The column with the total length of 1,5 mile consisted of 2 armoured personnel carriers, Ural and Kamaz vehicles, armoured mini-vans and cars with George ribbons [black and orange ribbon separatist use as their specific sign].
As a result of fight more than 20 pieces of military equipment were destroyed, 26 fighters were killed and another 2 wounded. Fighters mostly were of Russian and Chechen nationality.
Ukrainian Su-25 was shot down in Donbas. Su-25 was downed using Russian anti-aircraft missile when it returning to the base after having carried out the task of destruction of manpower and military equipment of terrorists. The pilot catapulted and was in safe place in 1,5 hour. The pilot was not injured.
It is interesting to mention that Russians themselves actively upload photographs of military equipment and soldiers take close to Ukrainian border.
The previous week National Security and Defense Council that Russian troop had taken control of town of Novoazovsk, a number of settlements in nearby regions and some settlements in two regions of Donetsk oblast.
In his turn Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE declared that there are no Russian soldiers or Russian military equipment in Ukraine.
Meanwhile Russian troops are at a distance of 20 km from Ukrainian port town Mariupol. Local residents are afraid of that the town would be under attack soon.
There are organized preparations to defend the town.
Yesterday boat of Ukrainian border service was summed. 8 members of the crew have been saved. The fate of the other 2 is still unknown.
