We have two enemies – internal and external, and the internal one – traitors and corruption – is much worse

Cossack Mykhailo Gavryliuk – Maidan hero and the newly elected member of Verkhovna Rada – said that during press briefing at Ukrainian Media Crisis Center.

His decision to become Member of Parliament Gavryliuk explains quite simply – ha has been fighting and will continue to fight for Ukraine and its people.

‘After events at Maidan [Independence Square] I did not lay down my arms, went to zone of anti-terrorist operation and continued to fight for Ukraine, for better life of Ukrainians. However, currently we have two enemies. One of them is external, we see him, and we are fighting him in Eastern Ukraine. The second one is internal, these are traitors of Ukraine, corruption. And they are terrible enemy. This enemy is hidden, it should be found and defeated’, – said Gavryliuk during a press briefing at the special project organized by Ukrainian Crisis Media-Center for the First Anniversary of Maidan.

Among his first task as deputy Mykhailo Gavryliuk names removal of parliamentary immunity and completion of lustration process – removal of corruptors and traitors of Ukraine from power.

‘Almost a year has passed since events on Maidan. Ukrainians have not felt significant changes so far. It is a hard time now because besides our internal problems we have provoked war. Now we, as members of parliament, have to make every effort to change the situation and get closed to European life. The old system is still functioning in the country and we have to break its back’.
