The situation in the area of Novoazovsk and Mariupol

NSDC concerning the situation is south areas of the anti-terrorist operation

The town of Novoazovsk is being shelled from Russian side and from seized positions at Ukrainian territory. But the town remains under control of Ukrainian armed forces.

This was reported by spokesman for the Information and Analytics Center of Nationals Security and Defense Council Colonel Andriy Lysenko during daily press briefing in Kyiv.

Concerning the situation in southern direction in area of towns of Novoazovsk and Mariupol. After yesterday’s fights Ukrainian armed forces have fortified their positions in the village of Bezimenne. Novoazovsk-Mariupol road is fully controlled by Ukrainian forces. Mixed mobile groups of militants, law enforcement officers and guardsmen have organized posts on the most dangerous directions of possible movement of the enemy toward Mariupol.

The town of Novoazovsk is being shelled from Russian side and from seized positions at Ukrainian territory. But the town remains under control of Ukrainian armed forces.

The sub-units around Mariupol have been reinforced with additional forces. First operative brigade of the National Guard equipped with new military equipment which had carried out march to the ATO zone after parade for Independence Day came to Mariupol yesterday night. Militants strengthen fortification lines. Currently the situation around Mariupol is calm and controlled. Transport and town enterprises function normally.

Russians and terrorists have seized villages of Markine, Kovske, Shcherbak. Klimkino, Sedovo-Vasylivka, Kuznetsi, Rozy Luxemburg to the north of Novoazovsk. There are massive srtillery shelings of settlements of Guselshchykovo, Sedove, Obryv and Holodne from territory of Russian Federation. The artillery fire is adjusted by drones of Russian armed forces.
