Vera Savchenko, sister of Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko who is illegally imprisoned at the territory of Russian Federation, informed the latest news of the case of Nadia.
The court has decided to keep Savchenko imprisoned for 3 months for the continuation of psychiatric expertise.
According to Vera, the main problem today is the principal difference in the lines of defense built by Ukrainian and Russian lawyers. Two sides cannot find and work out common line to liberate Nadia.
Thus, Russian lawyers Ilia Novikov and Mark Feigin insist of recognition of Nadia as mentally ill with need for further treatment. Most likely this treatment should take place on the territory of Russian Federation. Ukrainian lawyers, on their side, have given the court all medical certificates of Savchenko that indicate that Nadia passed medical examination every year. The documents indicate that Savchenko is healthy and fit for military service.
In addition, this difference in lines of defense make harm to Nadia. That is why her sister is going to Moscow next week to establish contact between the two defense sides. One more Ukrainian lawyer will accompany Vera.
Savchenko is preoccupied that recognitions of her sister as mentally ill does not guarantee her return to Ukraine and treatment of Ukrainian pilot in Russia will permanently exclude the possibility of her liberation.
