“Shchedryk” Can Work Miracles With Your Heart

Urgently in need of Christmas magic? Watch this clay cartoon from the Ukrainian band “Vopli Vidopliassova”

Back in 2010 Oleg Skrypka wrote his own charismatic version of the classic Ukrainian folk song “Shchedryk” and recorded it with the participation of musicians from “Les Grand Orchestra” and Taras and Olga Chubay in a studio on the territory of the famous Pechersk Lavra. The amazing music video was created by Stepan Koval in the genre of clay 3D animation. The script to the video, written by a professional storyteller Sasha Lirnyk, is centered around a young boy who is learning about Christmas traditions by travelling in time from a modern city to an ancient fairy-tale village. This story is full of Christmas spirit. It makes you believe that we all harbour kindness deep down in our hearts. It gently reminds that everyone of us, no matter how adult, serious and thick-skinned we look today, used to be just a little child full of hopes and dreams and joy. So, if today you are, just like us, in urgent need of a little bit of Christmas magic, these 6 minutes of clay animation might give you what you are looking for.
