Russians continue to shell positions of Ukrainian forces

Colonel Andriy Lysenko, spokesperson for Informational and Analytical Centre for National Security and Defense Council, reported this.

Despite the recently declared ceasefire, the situation in the area of anti-terrorists operation remains difficult. There continues shelling of positions of Ukrainian armed forces. However, the character of shelling has changed: it is mostly carried out with mortars and small arms instead of heavy artillery. During the last day, there were shelling of positions of Ukrainian armed forces in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Shelling form territory of Russian Federation was not registered.

Russian saboteurs resort to provocations instead – they shell positions of terrorists under the guiseof Ukrainian armed forces.

Last night there were explosions in Donetsk city. There continues shelling of the town of Shchastya in Luhansk oblast.

The moving of manpower and Russian troops has been registered in the territories controlled by terrorists.

According to operative data, Russia increases the number of its assault troops on the territory of Crimean peninsula. During the last week there were registered 64 tanks, about 100 of armoured personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, several dozens of multiple rocket launcher systems ‘Grad’, ‘Uragan’ and anti-aircraft ’Buk’, weapons to hit air and ground target and airplanes. Even a field hospital has been established.

There are seven big landing ships of Russian Black Sea Fleet and one ship of the Baltic Fleet have been registered in the Black Sea waters.

Russians carry out engineering works to establish and fortify battle positions on their territory. The positions are located close to positions of Donetsk border service in direction to Mariupol.

The situation in Mariupol itself is stable and controlled.
