Russian media state that Ukraine will soon switch to Latin alphabet

Russian mass media state that Ukrainian will soon switch to Latin alphabet.

Yesterday Russian news agency TASS published news on celebration of Day of Ukrainian language in Lviv where they allegedly discuss switching to Latin alphabet. Journalists state that the initiators of the idea try to underline European identity of Ukrainians. ‘Lviv resident believe that Ukraininian will shift to Latin sooner or later’, – the info agency emphasizes.

Later Russian TV channel Lifenews, known for its false stories about Ukraine, spread news that Ukraine is going to switch from Ukrainian alphabet to Latin one to please European Union. The TV channel invited psycholinguist Dmitriy Petrov. He said that switching of the alphabet is quite real, however, such reforms may bring cultural split to Ukrainian nation.
