In Donetsk region rescuers found 272 dead bodies killed in Boeing-777 crash that had been shot down by terrorists on July 19, 2014.
According to UNIAN correspondent this was informed by tPrime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk during a briefing in Kiev Crisis Centre.
‘I’ve just been informed by State Emergency Service that 272 bodies have been found, 251 of which are put in refrigerators at the station Torez. We’ve sent 2 echelons consisting of 4 wagons in order to remove the bodies of dead people’, – Yantseniuk said.
The State Emergency Service has reported and that as of 7 am July 21 251 bodies and 66 fragments have been found and delivered to wagon-refrigerators at the railway station Torez.
The area of about 120 km2 has been searched. Meanwhile the work of rescuers is complicated by the presence of armed fighters who prevent the work of the units of State Emergency Service. 810 people have been attracted to the search and rescue operation, including 335 SES representatives and 35 vehicles.
Yesterday it was informed that 219 bodies had been found.
As it was reported earlier on July 17 terrorists had shot down the plane Boeing-77 that was flying in direction to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam.
The plane was shot down with anti-aircraft missile system ‘Buk’ that, according to Ukrainian Armed Forces, had been given to terrorists by Russia. There were 298 people on board. All of them died. The bodies and personal things were scattered over a large area that complicated the rescue operation greatly. By the way, the plane fell at the territory controlled by terrorists.
Among the dead there were citizens of Malaysia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Indonesia, Canada, Philippines, New Zealand, Germany.
