Relative truce in the East

Relative truce in the East

Since Friday Russian-terrorist troops have significantly reduced usage of heavy weapons in Donbas.

This is reported by head of ‘Information Resistance’ group, MP Dmitriy Tymchuk.

Russian-terrorist troops still refrain themselves from using heavy weapons, however, active usage of infantry weapons to shell ATO forces positions and conduct armed provocations was registered yesterday, September 2.

They simultaneously activated reconnaissance and subversive-terrorist activities. Mining, ambushes, scurfs, raid actions in small groups and sniper groups are used more actively today.

In particular, during the last 24 hours intense small arms firing was registered between settlements of Opytne and Avdiivka, near Maryinka and Krasnogorivka [see map above]. Mostly firing was conducted using grenade launchers and small arms.

Shellings were registered near Granite, Starognativka, Orekhove, Shchastya, Sokolnyky, Krymske and other settlements.

Dmitriy Tymchuk also noted and is some parts of front fighters bring more artillery to the frontline instead of withdrawing it. For example, appearance of several new fire emplacements of artillery (howitzers D-30 and D-30A 122 mm caliber, 2 batteries of self-propelled artillery Gvozdyka) has been registered near settlement of Telmanove, Donetsk oblast.

For more information on locations of shelling see the map above. The map of Ukraine conflict has been created by Ukraine Crisis Media Center for National Security and Defense Council.
