Russian President Vladimir Putin made a proposal to the Council of the Federation (RF) to cancel the authorization for use of military forces on the territory of Ukraine

This offer was made by Vladimir Putin made before his departure to Vienna.
As stated in the message from the press service of the Kremlin, a letter has been sent to the head of RF Valentina Matviyenko, which proposes to cancel The Resolution of Council of the Federation № 48-FZ of March 1, 2014 on the use of armed forces in the territory of Ukraine.
According to the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, the proposal was included in the the Council of Federation “to normalize the situation and resolve the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, and also in connection with the tripartite talks on the issue”.
The press service of the upper house of parliament in its turn said that on Wednesday, June 25, the President’s proposal will be accepted.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on 1 March of the Federation Council unanimously adopted the proposal of Vladimir Putin about the possibility of putting troops in Ukraine.
We remind that on 23 June the Council of the EU for Foreign Affairs called on Russia to use its influence to separatists in eastern Ukraine for a cease-fire and the release of prisoners of members of the OSCE.
