President Poroshenko has signed package of anti-corruption laws

Espreso.tv reports this with reference to the press service of the president.

In particular, the President has signed the following laws: ‘On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine’, ‘On the Prevention of Corruption’, ‘On the basis of Anti-Corruption policy in Ukraine (AntiCorruption strategy) for 2014-2017’ and ‘On amendments of some legislative acts of definition of final beneficiaries of juridical persons and public figures’.

In the press service of the president they mention that, in particular, the law ‘On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine’ implies the establishment of special state law enforcement agency whose mission is to prevent criminal corruption offenses committed by senior officials that threaten national security.

Law of Ukraine ‘On prevention of corruption’ involves complex reformation of system of prevention of corruption in accordance with international standards, in particular, it provides establishment of National Commission for Prevention of Corruption.

Law of Ukraine ‘On Amendments to Certain Legislative Act of Ukraine on definition of final beneficiaries of juridical persons and public figures’ establishes mechanism for identification of individual – the final beneficial legal person as well as free access to the State Register of rights for immovable property’.

Law of Ukraine “On Principles of anti-corruption policy in Ukraine (Anti-Corruption Strategy) for 2014-2017 years” involves determining of set of priority measures aimed at reducing level of corruption in Ukraine and formation of basis for further anti-corruption reforms.

The documents mentioned above were approved the Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] on October 14, 2014.
