President of Ukraine Poroshenko once again called on Russia to support the peace plan to resolve the situation in the Donbas with actions that are not enough now
June 26, 2014
According to an UNIAN correspondent, the latter was declared by Poroshenko today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
He reminded that the peace plan was supported by all countries for which Ukraine is grateful to them.
“At the same time it is obvious that the peace plan will work only with the support of Russia. So far, unfortunately, this support is absolutely insufficient, “- he said.
“Well, the Federation Council is not going to declare war on Ukraine, but was hasn’t been declared, it’s just going on right in these moments,” – Poroshenko said.
According to him, the mercenaries continue to cross the Ukrainian border.
He informed about his telephone conversation yesterday – with Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, French President François Hollande, President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“(President of Russia) has expressed his support for the peace plan, we hope now real steps forward, and I want from this place urge Russia to contribute to the settlement of the situation: support the peace plan with actions, not words” – said Poroshenko.
“By these actions we stop the death of civilians and military people who are defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity. We expect these actions. Strengthen border security, stop the illegal flow of military equipment, stop recruiting mercenaries, after all – withdraw troops, “- said Poroshenko.
He stressed that the Ukrainian people do not want war, and all the ideas of separatism were imposed on Ukrainian people from outside. “Ukraine is a monolithic, it is necessary to stop the avalanche of lies and hatred spread by Russian media, it is not conducive to peace,” – he said.
He said he was willing to engage Russian experts to monitoring the border that is to be carried out by the OSCE. “To make sure there followed hard law to which we have committed,” – said Poroshenko.
