Poroshenko: artillery has destroyed part of Russian military vehicles that entered Ukrainian territory this night

This was reported by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during his conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

‘The interlocutors coordinated their actions concerning reaction to an entrance of Russian military equipment to Ukrainian territory that had been clearly showed by international journalists including ‘The Guardian’ newspaper. President informed that the information is accurate and confirmed because considerable part of these vehicles was destroyed by Ukrainian artillery at night’, – it is said in the report by the President press service.

According to the report by NSDC information centre spokesman Andriy Lysenko that has been presented during press briefing in Kyiv roday ‘the column that has crossed Ukrainia border in the area of checkpoint ‘Izvaryne’ that is being controlled by terrorirsts has been registered. We don’t inform about the number of military vehicles. It was lead by intelligence officers. Corresponding activity was carried out and part of the column doesn’t exist anymore. What has remained of it where it was going – this we’ll inform later, the day hasn’t ended yet, hostilities are in process’.

Lysenko explained that due to the fact that terrorists have surface-to-air missile systems and the fact that the air space is being observed from Russian territory the usage of aviation to destroy terrorists is inappropriate. ‘That is why we use the tactics of tracking and destruction of columns’.
