253 deputies of 372 registered in the session hall supported the law amendment.
Before the voting there were made several amendments to the law. In particular, the refer to the fact that NSDC powers should correspond to Constitution and Laws of Ukraine.
The adopted law expands powers of NSDC secretary. Oleksandr Tyrchynov, formed chairman of the Parliament, has recently been appointed to this post.
The project expands comptence of NSDC to decide urgent measures to solve the crisis that threatens national security and coordination and control of th executive authorities in spheres of anti-corruption, ensuring public safety and crime control.
Earlier, on December 23, the Parliament did not support the law ‘On amendments to the law ‘On the National Security and Defense Council’ for improvement of coordination and control in sphere of national security and defense’ which had been submitted by the president.
The draft law was supported by 223 MP (minimum 226 needed) of 268 registered.
