Parliament can substitute army greeting ‘Good day, comrades!’ for Glory to Ukraine!

Deputies offer to the Verkhovna Rada to substitute greeting ‘Good day, comrades’ for ‘Glory to Ukraine’ and ‘comrades’ [Tovarysh] for ‘lord / Mister’ [pan].

4 deputies from ‘Freedom’ party are the authors of the corresponding bill – Oleg Tyagnybok, Yuriy Syrotiuk, Oleg Bondarchuk and Igor Kryvetskiy.

As deputies say, preservation of ‘soviet rudiments’ has negative effect at patriotic spirit and promotes collaboration.

‘It is mostly important to finally Ukrainize Armed Forces. They still preserve characteristic traits of the Soviet Union – clothing, form of greeting, system of military ranks. We believe that typical soviet form of greeting has the most negative effect at young defenders of the Motherland’, – said the deputies.

Instead of occupation stamps, they offer to legalize on the level of Ukrainian Armed Forces traditional greeting Glory to Ukraine – Glory to Heroes. The response ‘We / I wish health’ they offer to substitute for ‘Glory to Heroes’.

They also offer to substitute address ‘comrade’ [tovarysh] for ‘lord / mister’ [pan]. Thrice congratulation ‘glory’ should be substituted for ‘Glory to Ukraine!’.
