President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko informed this during joint press conference with Bronislaw Komorowski.
According to the president, video conference in the format of trilateral contact group will be held
On Thursday of Wednesday, and there is hope that the meeting of the group will take place in Minsk [Belarus capital] on Sunday.
Poroshenko reminded about telephone conversation in ‘Norman format’ which was held on Tuesday. French President Francois Hollande, German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed situation in eastern Ukraine.
The key issue that was discussed is implementation of signed Minsk protocol and Minsk memorandum.
In particular, according to President of Ukraine, the officials discussed release of hostages, including pilot and MP Nadia Savchenko.
Head of state also added that the officials agreed to make every effort to release all hostages.
As we have previously reported, the meeting of trilateral contact group in Minsk was scheduled for December 9. Later it was canceled.
On December 16, 2014 Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said that the delay in meeting of the contact group was connected with the desire of DNR and LNR [self-proclaimed terrorist Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics] to discuss economic cooperation with Ukraine.
