Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine repelled attack of Russian armed forces and separatists near settlements Rozdolne, Vasylivka and Starolaspa in Donetsk oblast. The attack took place at night on September 2. This is reported by the press service of the National Guard and Information and Analytical Centre of National Security and Defense Council.

According to the press service the attack of Russian forces began in the area of settlement of Rozdolne. 4 trucks with white flags and inscriptions saying ‘Children’ approached the checkpoint, armed people jumped out of vehicles and began firing at Ukrainian militants. Fierce battle began. Heavy artillery and ‘Grad’ volley fire systems were used against Ukrainian militants. Meanwhile Ukrainian forces repelled 3 attacks. As a result 9 soldiers were wounded, one died. Ukrainian militants neutralized 4 trucks of separatists.

In their turn separatists inform on their media channels that they have made Ukrainian militants retreat form Starobeshivsk region in Donetsk oblast.

Yesterday head of Ukrainian Defense Ministry Heletey declared about the termination of the ATO and necessity to begin defense from Russia.

According to Heletey Russia has lost hybrid war that is why it had to shift to full-scale invasion of its regular troops into Ukrainian territory. ‘Operationon liberation of East from terrorists is terminated. We must urgently build defense against Russia that is not only trying to establish itself at occupied territories, but also to assault further at another territories of Ukraine. Today we deal with divisions and regiments. Tomorrow we might deal with corpses.
