Member of Parliament, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on affairs of the Crimean Tatar people, the first chairman of the Mejilis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzemilev informed this during press briefing at Ukrainian Media Crisis Center.
Another method of intimidation of the Crimean Tatar people – penalties. According to the decree of occupational authorities of the peninsula, if more than 3 people gather and this gathering is not agreed with the occupational authorities – this is an illegal meeting. ‘Most part of people who had come to meet me in March we accused of unauthorized crossing of the border between the occupied Crimea and mainland Ukraine, later they were fined. The total sum of fine is several million rubles’, – said M. Dzhemilev.
When being asked about the possibility of total deportation of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev said that such threat exists and ‘acquires a real shape, despite the completely opposite statements of Russian and Crimean authorities’.
‘Russian authorities are now preparing the so-called population census – this is a part of preparation if not for total deportation, than to deportation of majority of the Crimean Tatar people’, – the leader of the Crimean Tatar people explained.
