Minister of Justice of Ukraine Pavel Petrenko signed and filed a lawsuit to ban the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU)

According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was informed by the minister at a briefing in Kyiv.

Petrenko noted that according to the results of the analysis of a huge amount of evidence that was provided by law enforcement authorities of the Ministry of Justice concerning illegal activities of the Communist Party, “I have decided today, signed and filed a claim for the elimination of the Communist Party of Ukraine”. Petrenko said that the lawsuit had been filed in the District Administrative Court of Kyiv today was already registered.

 

‘And the evidence base that has been received by us consists of about 129 pages of written evidence, video have been added to this claim’, – said the minister, adding that The Ministry of Justice launched a lawsuit regarding the prohibition of the Communist Party and according to the law on political parties because of violation of certain provisions of the law by this political force.

 

As UNIAN reported earlier, May 18, Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov sent a letter to the Ministry of Justice to consider the material on the unconstitutional activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine. In the letter Turchynov referred to the SSU that had provided information to demonstrate that the leaders of the Communist Party of Ukraine and its representatives had been acting to the detriment of national interests of Ukraine.
