Former President of Poland Alexander Kwasniewski said this in his interview to Austrin newspaper Die Presse.

He said that Russia can end war in Donbas when it wants. All that is necessary for that is that Russian troops leave Ukrainian territory, the Kremlin stops financing terrorists and reaches agreement on the gas price. However, according to Alexander Kwasniewski, this will never happen.

‘Russian wants to keep all Ukraine in its sphere of influence, not only its part. The Kremlin wants to see Ukraine in its Eurasian union’, – he said. At least Ukraine should not become member of EU and NATO. According to Alexander Kwasniewski, Vladimir Putin has got plenty of time. He will stay in power for at least 6 more years. None politic in EU can afford this.

The former president of Poland added Putin has more leverages of influence at Ukraine that Brussels on Russia. ‘He has got gas, oil, money, soldiers and propaganda. Several supporters in Ukraine in addition. Russian will not begin war against Ukraine. He doesn’t need it. He will just wait until Ukraine has serious economic problems’, – he said.

He also mentioned that sanctions is not a feature of power, but of wakefulness. ‘Because the one who introduces sanctions has not got other leverages of influence’. Meanwhile, the Former Polish president said it was necessary to impose sanctions and now they should be even more stringent.

Kwasniewski also believes that Vladimir Putin doesn’t recognize independence of Ukraine and treats it as an ‘artificial state’. Numerous times, he called Ukraine an artificial state. He said that all post-soviet boundaries are artificial because they had been painted by bolshevists or drunken Khrushchev.
