Official: 5 000 people killed in Donbas

Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivskiy informed this during press briefing at Ukraine Crisis Media Center.

Mr. Lubkivskiy presented the Kremlin Black Book. As of early February more than 5000 people were killed in Donbas and almost 11 000 were wounded.

The book is based on information provided by central and local authorities of Ukraine. The book was prepared in 5 languages: Ukrainian, English, French, German and Russian.

Mr. Lubkivskiy underlined that the Kremlin Black Book is the first edition. It presents estimated consolidated data as of early February.

He mentioned that according to data from State Service of Ukraine for war veterans and participants of ATO, as of January 1, 2015 1 300 servicemen were killed in the current conflict. However, the real number might be larger.

As of February 2, 2015 there almost 1 000 000 internally displaced people who moved from Donbas to other oblasts of Ukraine. 103 000 people asked for medical help, 25 000 were hospitalized.

Mr. Lubkivskiy also mentioned that every day Ukraine spends 100 million UAH to conduct anti-terrorist operation and protect itself from Russian aggression.

The book says that as of early February 5 086 people were killed and 10 948 were wounded in Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
