On Putin’s birthday terrorist fighters behaved like zombies. Runway of Donetsk airport was impossible to destroy.
Cyborg, defender of Donetsk airport, serviceman of 95th airborne brigade Ivan Trembovetskiy said that during his interview for Ukrainian ‘Channel 5’.
‘Runway was impossible to destroy’, – said cyborg with call sign ‘Sea cadet’. – ‘it was recently built. If I’m not mistaken there were 4 meters of concrete. It was damaged a little bit’.
Cyborg says that runway can be restored in month or two and military transport would be able to use it. If in case with Luhansk airport, which was also defended by Ukrainian servicemen, servicemen managed to blow up the runway, in Donetsk airport it was impossible.
Recently there appeared new video of Donetsk airport made on April 30, 2015. It features runway which appears to be little damaged.
One of owner of ‘Insider’ magazine Oleksiy Tamrazov underlined in his commentary to video that after large-scale battles for the runway it hadn’t been seriously damaged.
Cyborg also spoke about offense at Donetsk airport that took place on birthday of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
According to Trembovetskiy, most part of terrorist fighters went to attack like zombies. Meanwhile, there were professionals who managed to approach Ukrainian positions at distance of 20 meters.
On October 7, 2014 there was large-scale offense at Donetsk airport. There were rumors that terrorists wanted to seize the airport as a gift for Vladimir Putin on his birthday.
Terrorist were going to positions of ATO forces just like zombies.
‘They went and went. But it was clear when there were trained people and when mere cannon fodder. They just went like zombies. This is true – they were under influence of something. They went and died’, – the cyborg said.
Meanwhile, there were skilled fighters who managed to approach Ukrainian positions at distance of 20 meters.
‘Then it became clear that this man is professional. There were such ones. Especially at night when they are hard to see’.
