Volunteers as a pride of our country
Summary of the most important events for September 17, 2014 by Dmytro Tymchuk.
1. Temporary investigation commission of the Verkhovna Rada in its report on usage of funds for the need of the army mentioned the main fails of the system of army supply – absence of unification, ignoring of real needs of militants, bureaucracy and formalism. They have forgotten to mention total corruption, the fight against which is still to come.
The fact that the systems of army supply has got the attention of the government – this is god. However, some political forces might use it as a tool before the parliamentary elections. But if it brings at least some benefit – let it be.
Today it is not a secret to anyone that Ukrainian army would suffer a lot if it were not for the help of volunteers – departments systems; if to put it mildly, don’t manage to provide supply for the army. Volunteer movement is everything; it is pride of our country. Nevertheless, let us not forget that they are doing someone’s work. Their deed must not remove responsibility from those who get their wages and do nothing instead of their duty.
2. Draft of law on new sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine has been submitted to the parliament of the USA. One of items of the law presupposes supply of weapons for Kyiv.
According to the law, American President will be empowered to provide Ukraine with defensive weapons, reconnaissance equipment, ammunition etc.
The draft of law is far from law itself. But the very fact of appearance of such law in the parliament of the USA look inspiring on the background of constant statements of EU on impossibility to give weapon to Ukraine.
