In Dnipropetrovsk on June 14 people will honor memory of fallen paratroopers

Pro-Russian separatists shot down a Ukrainian army transport plane with an anti-aircraft missile as it came in to land early on Saturday in the eastern city of Luhansk, killing all 49 military personnel on board. 

Memorial event dedicated to anniversary of IL-76 disaster near Luhansk will be held in Dnipropetrovsk.

Activist of volunteer organization ‘People’s Army’ Vladyslav Titariov informed this in Facebook.

‘I remember that day well… Then there was night and information about downed plane. And there was shock. Later in Kramatorsk airport Vadym Rychkov said: now we have two days August 2 [day of paratrooper in Ukraine] and June 14, in these days we have to be together. In course of year the brigade had many tragic events, but the tragedy of IL-76 united all. All those who continue to fight’, – the activist Titariov wrote.

In order to honor memory of fallen paratrooper people will launch sky lanterns at 09.00 pm.

Tragedy of IL-76 took place on June 14, 2014 not far from Luhansk city. Plane with 40 paratroopers and 9 crew members on board was downed by terrorists. Nobody survived the catastrophe.
