Spokesperson for Information-Analytical Center of National Security and Defense Council reported this during daily press briefing in Kyiv.

During the last day due to implementation of the peace plan of President Poroshenko 30 Ukrainian militants were released from captivity. This number includes 27 militants of Ukrainian armed forces, 1 border guard and 2 soldiers of the National Guard. In general, since the announcement of the truce more than 1000 Ukrainian citizens have been released from captivity.

Meanwhile, despite the ceasefire regime, terrorists continue to shell positions of Ukrainian armed forces in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

Yesterday after mortar shelling terrorists once again tried to attack Donetsk airport. During the day Ukrainian soldiers repelled 2 powerful assaults.

During the evening attack terrorist’s tank hit armoured personnel carriers of Ukrainian armed forces with the crew and soldiers. Because of intensive hostilities Ukrainian paratroopers suffered losses.

In this extremely difficult situation, Ukrainian militants demonstrated true heroism. They forced the enemy to retreat and destroyed the tanks that previously had destroyed our APC [armoured personnel carrier].

During the day, there have been registered destruction of 3 enemy’s tanks, 2 self-propelled ‘Tulip’ systems, one mortar detachment and about 50 fighters.
