At Headquarters of anti-terrorist operation they do not exclude that terrorists can shell humanitarian convoy from Russian Federation in order to create pretext for military invasion into Ukraine.
Today Russian has sent another ‘humanitarian convoy’ to Donbas. The column of trucks with the so-called ‘humanitarian aid’ for Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts has left for Rostov-on-Don this morning. Then it will proceed to Donbas. This is the twelfths convoy since August 2014.
Traditionally, Russian side has not sent any documents concerning the passing of the convoy.
Spokesperson of anti-terrorist operation Andriy Lysenko reported during press briefing in Kyiv about possibility of provocation with the humanitarian convoy.
‘According to operative data, terrorist groups DNR and LNR [self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics] can resort to provocations by attacking the next Russian so-called ‘humanitarian convoy’ accusing Ukrainian side of this. Due to the plan of the enemy, this should become the reason for open invasion of military units of Russian Federation on territory of our state’, – Lysenko said.
He mentioned that traditionally Russian side had not sent any official documents concerning passing of the convoy. Besides, the International Committee of the Red Cross will not participate in accompaniment and examining of the so-called ‘humanitarian aid’.
According to Lysenko, the UN office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has addressed Russian asking to provide information on the content of this ‘humanitarian convoy’ and all the previous ones since August 2014.
