False information about xenophobia in Ukraine is a part of Russian propaganda that accompanies armed aggression.

‘Russian mass median and diplomats are frightening people with an outbirts of national extremism and xenophobia in Ukraine, and, in particular, they justify interference into internal affairs of Ukraine with this reason’.

This was declared during press briefing in Kyiv by head of Monitoring Group on rights of national minorities Vyacheclav Lihachov.

According to Mr. Lihachov due to peculiarities of current social and political processes special attention should be paid to manifestations of antisemitism, racism and other forms of intolerance.

‘Systematic and deliberate usage of false, unconfirmed and sometimes even fake information concerning these manifestations in Ukraine is a part of massive informational-propagandist campaigns that accompany military aggression against Ukraine’, – said Lihachov.

‘Pseudo-monitorings of violation of the right of national minorities occupy important position in justification of intervention into internal affairs of Ukraine and even occupation of its part. Such mis-informative propaganda campaigns directed and discrediting of young Ukrainian democracy and the whole idea of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity are carried out on the highest level with the support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation and a number of political and technological centers generously funded including from the Federation budged. The information that should discredit Ukrainian democracy is widely spread by the aggressor and its agents of influence all over the world’.

Viacheslav Lihachov says that the best was to counter act the misinformation and lies is not to object it, but to professionally collect, analyze and operatively spread the most reliable information.
