8 000 students of Crimean universities decided to leave the peninsula and get Ukrainian diploma.
Every fifth student in Crimea went to Ukraine to finish education. This information came from Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science.
According to data from Unified State electronic database on education issues, during 2014-2015 7 977 students of Crimean higher education institutions of I-IV accreditation levels went to study in Ukraine. This number includes 4 354 full-time students.
According to the ministry, before annexation 36 education institutions of I-IV accreditation levels functioned in Crimea. 38 000 students studied there.
Previously Ukrainian Ministry Cabinet approved a resolution to provide additional budget places in Ukrainian universities for students from Crimea.
