Death penalty has been imposed in the self-proclaimed DNR
The self-proclaimed ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ [DNR] has adopted its own ‘Criminal code’ that presupposes death penalty. This was reported by the press service of the so-called republic. On August 17 the first meeting of the Council of Ministers of Donetsk People’s Republic took place.
Members of the presidium adopted 2 resolutions: ‘On approval of ‘Regulations of Military courts of Donetsk People’s Republic’ and ‘On approval of Criminal Code of DNR’.
What concerns the Criminal code – the regulatory framework of Russian Federation was taken as a base. The newly adopter Criminal code presupposes death penalty for most serious crimes.
‘When we end up with the war we’ll take the way of humanization of our criminal legislation’, – said Deputy Prime Minister of DNR Olersandr Karaman. ‘First Deputy Prime Minister’ of DNR Vladimir Antiyfeev underlined that the introduction of the death penalty it is not revenge but a highest degree of social protection.
‘We should take the side of the victim, the side of his family. We have to protect the people’.
