Spokesperson for Information and Analytic Center of National Security and Defense Council colonel Andriy Lysenko reported this during daily press briefing in Kyiv.
In order to solve the issue of identification of bodies of soldiers who have died during the anti-terrorist operation Presidential Administration has adopted a decision that since the next week all DNA examination of bodies would be carried out in the laboratory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For than the Ministry has 17 modern laboratories that allow to hold DNA examination at an appropriate level and in optimal time.
All DNA data will be included into a database. Today there remain 552 unidentified bodies of soldiers that need examination.
Meanwhile Ministry of Defense informs that yesterday in the city of Zaporizhya 56 soldiers were buried. All the bodies are still identified.
It is noted that heads of regional authority, commandment, soldiers of local garrison and local residents have gathered at the funeral.
‘The fact that we don’t know that names of these soldiers is a great tragedy. Bu we remember and we’ll never forget their heroism, we have to perpetuate their memory. I am confident that a memorial complex will be established there and our people would come there. Eternal memory and glory to heroes’, – said the head of Defense Council of Zaporizhya aleriy Baranov.
Representatives of all religious confessions attended the prayer for the repose if the dead.
