May 18 71st anniversary is Day of Remembrance of Deportation of Crimean Tatars.
In Simferopil Crimean Tatars who have refused to participate in events organized by the occupation authorities to mark the deportation, honored memory of its victims by launching several dozens of fireballs.
Tatar Community outside Ukraine also conducted memory gatherings in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey and other countries.
Requiem rally to honor deportation of Crimean Tatars will be held this night at the Idependence Square in Kyiv.
Deportation of Crimean Tatars began in 1944 on May 18. This day the first echelon started to Middle Asia.
In general, 180 000 of Crimean Tatars were deported from Bakhcysarai, Dzankoy and Simferopol to East of USSR.
