Situation in ATO zone worsened – fighters use ‘Grads’

During the last day Russia-backed fighters carried out 86 shellings of ATO forces positions and residential areas.

Unian reports this with reference to press-centre of anti-terrorist operation.

Yesterday, on July 26, at 08.20 pm fighters used howitzers of 152 mm caliber to shell settlement of Avdiivka and positions of Ukrainian Army near it.

Ukrainian positions in Mykolaivka were shelled using artillery of 152 mm caliber, mortars of 120 mm caliber, tanks and small arms.

Heavy artillery, howitzers and mortars were also used to fire at ATO positions near settlements of Vodyane, Myorsk, Pershe Travnya, Shchastya.

The ‘disturbing fire’ was repeatedly registered near settlements of Maryinka, Shyrokine, Avdiivka, Luhanske, Mayorsk, Kirove, Pershe Travnya, Stanytsya Luhansk, Pisky, Opytne and Shchastya.

Today on July 27, since midnight to 06.00 am a record number of ceasefire violations were registered. In addition, Russia backed fighters brazenly and deliberately shell peaceful settlements.

Settlement of Opytne was shelled using MLRS ‘Grad’, 120 mm caliber mortars and tanks for several hours.

‘Grads’ were also used to fire at Ukrainian positions near Vodyane settlement.

In addition, heavy artillery and mortars were used to shell such settlements as Mayorsk, Shchastya, Pisky, Hranitne etc.
