At present there is no information that any of the militants has laid arms down and yielded himself prisoner.
June 23, 2014 –
According to an UNIAN correspondent the latter was reported by the ATO speaker Vladyslav Seleznev at a press conference in Kiev.
“Actions of ATO force, that are conducting a series of operations in specified areas, encourage the militants lay down their arms,” - he said.
However, according to Seleznev, “we must understand that there are some contradictions between the militants, so it that one may speak of some surrenders of fighters only when such case is recorded and the ones who wish to lay down their arms are in the territory controlled by the ATO forces”.
“As for today there’s no such information (that militants have laid down their arms and surrendered – UNIAN)” – ATO spokesman added.
It was reported that a peace plan of President Petro Poroshenko crisis situation in the east provides in particular exemption from criminal liability for those who surrendered and didn’t commit serious crime.
Earlier Poroshenko ordered the suspension of fighting in eastern Ukraine. The truce in the area ATO started from 22:00 on June 20 and will last until 10:00 on June 27.
