Second President of Ukraine, Ukrainian representative in trilateral contact group Leonid Kuchma summed up results of the first meeting of the contact group after signing Minsk agreements in February. He says that results of trilateral meeting are ‘serious steps towards political settlement’.
Kuchma said than this negotiation was ‘constructive’.
Russian Federation representative Azamat Kumulhametov said that Minsk talks on May 6 gave hope for ‘political settlement’ of the conflict.
Following the meeting there was created groups of experts who have to offer steps towards implementation of peace plan.
OSCE representative Heidi Tagliavini said that first of such groups would start its work on May 19.
We remind that on February 2, 2015 leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia agreed on ceasefire in Donbas since February 15 and withdrawal of heavy weapons from demarcation line.
Ukraine and the West blame Russian of supporting fighters in Donbas. Moscow rejects accusations saying that there aren’t Russian servicemen in Donbas, they are ‘volunteers’.
Hostilities in Donbas started in April 2014 and last until now.
