Another ceasefire agreement reached during Minsk talks

According to Petro Poroshenko, the trilateral contact group agreed on ceasefire since February 15. In addition they reached agreement on withdrawal of all foreign troops from territory of Ukraine and release of all hostages within 19 days.

Ukrainian border service will be able regain control of the state border until the end of 2015.

According to the President, there are no agreements concerning autonomy of Donbas or federalization.

The head of state said that the Minsk talks had been tense. Both sides gave ultimatum conditions.

‘This was not easy, and in fact we were given all kinds of unacceptable conditions, withdrawals, surrenders. We did not accept any ultimatums and clearly expressed our position the ceasefire should take place without preliminary conditions’, – Poroshenko said.

According to him, the main achievement of Minsk talks is the agreement on ceasefire which will enter into force on February 15 and will be accompanied by withdrawal of heavy artillery. The president stated that this would help creating buffer zone of 140 km for multiple rocket launcher systems.

President Petro Poroshenko informed about reaching an agreement to liberate Nadia Savchenko.

On February 10, 2015 Moscow Basmanny Court prolonged the term of her arrest until May 13. Nadia Savchenko is accused of involvement into murder of two Russian journalists in July 2014 and illegal crossing of border.

 

Leaders of pseudo republics signed the document proposed by ‘Normand Four’.

Leaders of the DNR and LNR signed the document proposed by the participants of Minsk talks.

Leaders of the Donetsk People’s Republic [DNR] and Luhansk People’s Republic [LNR] Zakharchenko and Plotnitskiy signed the document that had been proposed by the participants of Minsk talks.

The leader of DNR Alexander Zakharchenko claimed that the document needs additional agreement. Meanwhile he mentioned that ‘due to guarantees from President of Russia, German chancellor and French President we have signed an agreement today’. Zakharchenko hopes that this agreement would put an end to hostilities and help DNR and LNR start peaceful development for the benefit of people.

The time will show whether the Kremlin puppets will act according the agreement or continue their hard labor on devastation of Ukrainian lands.
