NSDC about negotiations in Minsk and decisions that have been made
This was reported by spokesman for the Information and Analytics Center of Nationals Security and Defense Council Colonel Andriy Lysenko during daily press briefing in Kyiv.
Negotiations of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and EU representatives.
3 key issues have been discussed during the meeting:
– peace and safety in the region
– closing of Ukrainian-Russian border to prevent movement of equipment, ammunition and mercenaries
– liberation of prisoners and hostages.
Summing up the results of the meeting Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that Ukraien demands decisive actions that would bring peace to our territory. According to the President the sides have agreed to activate work of trilateral contact group.
According to results of the negotiation there should begin consultations between heads of General Staffs through the trilateral contact group. This would help to shift to bilateral ceasefire that would be controlled by OSCE representatives.
