KYIV, March 14 /Ukrinform/. The court suspended illegal decisions of the Sevastopol city council regarding the referendum and recognition of independence of Crimea.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office appealed illegal decisions of the Sevastopol city council at the District Administrative Court of Kyiv about independence of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city and on all-Crimean referendum,” a statement reads.
Consequently, the court on Thursday suspended the mentioned decisions at the PGO initiative.
“Given this, any action aimed at their implementation, are illegal and are considered to be committed without the appropriate legal basis,” the PGO said.
To remind, the Sevastopol city council has recently adopted a number of illegal decisions. In particular, “On provision of holding the all-Crimean referendum on March 16, 2014, in Sevastopol,” “On approval of the estimate of costs for the preparation and conduct of the all-Crimean referendum on March 16, 2014, in Sevastopol,” “On Approval of Provisional Regulations on the referendum in the city of Sevastopol ” and “On the approval of the” Declaration of Independence of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.”
